Meet Jim Livermore

I am a self-taught metal smith. Every day presents new learning experiences for me. Our work is juried in all shops of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, the prestigious organization that hosts the oldest crafts fair in America. (This year's fair will be held on August 6th through August 14th at the Mount Sunapee resort. Click HERE for details) I also show my work at fine jewelry shows throughout the Northeast and Midwest.

My background in art started in college and took me to places in the world that have shaped my life and influenced my design ideas. In my twenties, I traveled to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, to study at the Belles Artes, a national art school in the old colonial city. And in my thirties, I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico to apprentice at the Shidoni Foundry, a sculpture foundry in the foothills outside of Santa Fe. I lived and worked there for ten years. The influences of the wide open skies and spectacular sunsets still live in me every day in both my dreams and my work.

New Hampshire is home now with my wife, Lynne, and our daughter, Alyssa. Our house is located in the center of the state, close to the ocean and the mountains.

Working out of my home, I spend a lot of time in my garden, watching the flowers I tend and grow. As nature is perfect in its diversity, its form flowing and inspired, I try to mimic this in my ideas.
